  • A Warm, Welcoming Community

It's been great here. One of the things that attracted us to Arden Courts was the physical layout. The main hallway is circular, so there are no boundaries. Folks can continue to walk. And the walls are decorated vaguely like facades of buildings along a street, with siding and tiles, pictures, both insides and outsides of buildings. There's lots of variation, and it's a particularly nice design for folks with severe dementia. It's very bright, and there are lots of seating areas with big windows looking out onto backyard patios. So it doesn't feel shut in. The residential areas are spokes off of that main hub. The other piece of it is the staff and the way they engage with the residents. My loved one is not an easy case. She had to move from a nursing facility because as her dementia progressed, she developed aggressive tendencies and was very resistant to personal care and other things. Arden Courts reports they've had no issues with her behavior. And that is testament to their understanding of how to engage with those folks. Instead of provoking those behaviors, they know how to handle them and dance around them.

  • Overall Great Experience

It's a very friendly community and very clean. The people are very nice. But I would say this is a place to take your loved one for more advanced cases of dementia, not in the beginning stages. My loved one was in the earlier stages, and while he was comfortable there, it just wasn't the right fit.

Aunt fell and broke kneecap for which she was taken to hospital for surgery. Was moved to ManorCare and Uncle was taken to ArdenCourts. [Name removed] was instrumental in helping us secure ManorCare for aunt. She stayed with us at hospital one night until 10:30 helping us go through the process and getting a placement for uncle. [Name removed] was instrumental in helping us through all the paperwork and processes for uncle. Both of these ladies were remarkable in all they did to assist us. When you are in crisis with elderly family who have no children, these are the kinds of people you need to help you through it. My brother and I very grateful for all they did and they kindnesses these two women showed us through all the processes that were needed. Thank you [name removed] and [name removed]. Kudos to you both!
