My Mom moved in during the pandemic. I rented an apartment at approximately $4800 a month. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to come back to unpack more than half of her boxes and clothes. There is little done around a plan to support those residents moving in during the pandemic and a lack of communications. The leader of this location does not respond to emails or calls. My Mom reported feeling sick and Covid symptoms. I called the community and got voicemail. I wrote a note to their leader asking to have them check on my Mom...no response. Concerned about her safety and wellbeing, we moved her out. During her move day. I observed staff, vendors and aides without masks. As I was packing her kitchen items with the mover, we discovered black mold in the sink. No wonder she wasn't feeling well! This company's corporate office promised to investigate and refund her entrance fee, but never followed up. I have emails and documentation to support these issues. The staff are lovely and try their best but we were repeatedly told they were understaffed.

Do not consider moving a family member into this community...especially during the pandemic. I moved my Mom into the community in May and into a larger apartment in June. They allow 1 person from the family to move in during 1 day. The movers arrived in the afternoon and this left me 3 hours to unpack her belongings. Regrettably, more than half of her personal belongings were left unpacked. Despite repeated requests on coming in to unpack, 3 months later, no response. For instance, I sent a note (called...but went to VM) when my Mom woke up with symptoms that could have been attributed to Covid. I received no response from the Executive Director. I reached out to the facility NP that serves her community and she stopped by to check on my Mom. The community genuinely seems concerned about the spread of the pandemic which I appreciate. However, when I moved her out, I observed 1 staff member, 3 private duty aides/home health aides and 2 contractors without masks during a very limited time in the community. Additionally, I found black mold in my Mom's sink when I was with movers packing up her belongings. She complained of allergies and breathing issues when she lived there...now I know why.I would never recommend this community to anyone. The Executive Director fails to respond to communications. There are many more instances of individuals not responding, communicating except for when it comes to making a sale. I frequently heard about the many staffing shortages as an excuse for follow-up. BTW...there are many incredibly nice employees there who are absolutely lovely and do their best to help. Leadership at the community also fails to respond to issues and concerns in a timely manner OR at all. After she moved out, I reached out to their corporate leadership who promised to investigate my concerns and get back to me. I was also promised they would refund her move in fee...despite providing a lot of details, their corporate office did not follow-up as promised, NOR did they refund her deposit. There are many lovely employees that work at the community. Nonetheless, it is not acceptable that their community and corporate leaders do not respond, employees and contractors do not wear masks, and that black mold exists in any apartment.
