Visiting during the Restrictions is encouraged by phone, Face-time, Video calling, porch visits, and INSIDE Visits in a sanitized room with your loved one. Regular communication with our Director of Nursing and Nursing Staff coordinates exceptional care between the Family POA and the Resident's Doctor of choice.
AVONLEA Cottage has been open since 2014, and employs over 25 loving caregivers, CNAs, and Licensed Nurses. The local owners are on-site every day and make care decisions with communication to the family in mind.
Our Nursing and Staffing directors have over 100 years of combined experience in the Senior Care and Alzheimer’s Care field. The Ill Dept of Public Health (IDPH) has given an outstanding license with no violations under the current Director of Nursing/Executive Director. We are members of various County, City, and State Networking communities, and speak publicly on the subject of Senior Health and Wellness.
AVONLEA Cottage is unique, in that we are the ONLY stand-alone Memory Care home for an hour around Dixon Il. For families who want another option from the “nursing home” experience, our Staff ratios are very high, with 2 Staff per 7 Residents during the day, and 2 Staff per 8 Residents at night.
Our Doors are always secure, for Residents in the “wandering” stages, and we staff with a Licensed Nurse 24/7 to give the most reliable care.
Our neighborhood is quiet, with walkers, children, and lots of windows.
We serve the surrounding 7 Counties surrounding Lee County, of Illinois.
