We even offer fully-furnished hospitality suites for the comfort and ease of your visiting guests. Our apartments cater to the needs and preferences of each resident, depending on care level and accessibility requirements, and include options such as studios, 1- and 2-bedroom units, and ground floor living as well. All independent living apartments feature full kitchens, ample storage space, and walk-in showers. Some even include a dining room area – a hard-to-find feature in any community. Our assisted living apartments are three times larger than the national average, providing plenty of room for you to spread out and make the space your own. Our Josephine Memory Care Center studios give our residents privacy while the common areas provide care services which cater to every resident’s unique needs. We encourage everyone to make themselves at home with their own furnishings, but we provide the option of a fresh start if you choose to decorate with our in-house designer. Room choices face all directions, so whether you like to wake with the sunrise or settle down with the sunset streaming in, we are happy to accommodate you. The Kettering Recreation Center features the Charles I. Lathrem senior center, where members can enjoy a host of amenities including a swimming pool, a walking track, and an ice arena, along with drop-in activities such as exercise classes, card games, and educational programs. Students at the University of Dayton share our neighborhood and frequently stop by to chat with us. A little further into the city, a laser-lit riverfront walk awaits for an evening stroll. Our well-trained and attentive staff is present throughout the day to meet any needs of you or your loved one that may arise. Leading with compassion, we aspire to make sure our residents stay happy, fit, and mobile. We recruit a variety of visiting specialists to cater to the health and wellness of our residents, including first-class podiatrists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. Assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs) are offered, along with on-site home care, hospice care, massage therapy, medication assistance, and incontinence care. We ensure that services are well-planned for residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia, to decrease anxiety or disorientation and support a healthy lifestyle for all. For those who may be prone to wandering, we maintain a secure perimeter and our staff members are trained to safely redirect residents and calmly respond to any behavioral episodes that arise. Respite care, or a short-term stay, is available for those recovering from a hospital visit, an interim during a caregiver’s absence, or as an opportunity to experience our community firsthand. For added convenience, we share our campus with a skilled nursing facility, physician’s office, and a hospice organization (all separately owned).

10 Wilmington Place is considered a Retirement Community which provides Assisted Living and Memory Care services. These terms are defined as follows:

Retirement Community

Retirement Communities are geared towards seniors who are able to live on their own, without daily assistance, and prefer to live among people their age. This usually means residents are self-sufficient and do not require hands-on care. Think of retirement communities as age-restricted (typically 55+) complexes, which provide organized activities, meal services, and transportation.

Assisted Living

Assisted living communities provide supervision, community-style living, and personal care services to seniors who may require limited assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs). These communities promote independence among seniors who do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care. Seniors who desire an independent setting accompanied by a strong support system and the comfort of some daily assistance would adjust well to assisted living.

Memory Care

Memory care communities — sometimes called Alzheimer’s care or dementia care — provide specialized care for seniors who have Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other forms of memory loss. These communities offer personalized cognitive rehabilitation programs alongside assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Memory care usually includes 24-hour supervision and unique design elements, like outdoor gardens and color-coded walls, to help ease anxiety, agitation, and other symptoms of dementia.
