Bonaventure at Keizer Station

We thought Bonaventure at Keizer Station was very nice, but also very expensive. They didn't have the meal services all throughout the day either. Again, everything seemed very nice, but they were about 30% more in cost than other places we looked at. And my loved one just didn't want to spend that much.

It's a beautiful place, and if you are active, then you would probably fit in a lot better than someone who needs more assistance. It's clean, the people are nice, the food is good. They do offer a lot of activities, and that was one of the selling points. But they don't tell the residents when the activities are or encourage them to participate. They say they have an activities calendar, but I've not seen one yet. In my interactions with the staff, they come across as really friendly. They just don't follow upon things. The problem is the turnover rate is so great, and the staff aren't trained properly. The right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing, so they just don't follow through. We've had issues with lost laundry and meals not getting delivered - multiple meals in a day, to the point where you don't know if your loved ones are going to eat that day or not. I know how hard all of this is and the challenges these facilities are facing. But that doesn't make it less frustrating. I really believe it's a nice facility. But like everywhere else, they just have some staffing issues.

We chose Bonaventure at Keizer Station because the bathrooms are very large and they are right off of the bedroom. The room sizes here are nice and spacious. I would tell others to just be patient, there is a lot of turnover of staff but they have all been helpful and very friendly. I would recommend and I would like to stay here myself.
