Make your golden years your brightest yet when you reside at Brookdale Chapel Hill. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, this homelike memory care community provides each resident with a personalized care experience each day. Trained staff members understand different techniques to help residents’ with varying cognitive abilities thrive and consistent care assignments are also used to promote familiarity.
There are two dementia programs offered here. The first is called the Clare Bridge program which assists residents in the mid to late stages of dementia by providing a minimum of six enriching activities daily. The Solace Program doesn’t replace any elements of the Clare Bridge, however — it adds an additional layer of programming. Through this program, residents can look forward to activities involving the senses, music, and aromatherapy. Additional time for grooming assistance is provided as well.
Supervision is provided during mealtimes, which are kept routine to help reduce stress and confusion. All residents sit together at the same time and table each day to provide a more predictable and comfortable environment. Rest assured, staff is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency — safety is a top priority for Brookdale’s dementia-trained team members. An emergency alert system and keypad entries are also in place. In addition to care and safety features, residents receive assistance with housekeeping, home maintenance, and meal preparation. A therapy room, beauty/barber shop, and well-stocked library are available to use, too.
Community Services and Amenities
Residents can look forward to dancing, gardening, karaoke, pet-therapy, and a number of engaging activities. The community paths, colorful garden, courtyard, and patio can be used by residents daily and are enclosed to keep residents safe in these areas.
Some additional amenities to look forward to include the game room, cozy fireside living room, and screened lanai. Another community perk is the Personal Solutions program. Staff members deliver personal items to residents’ doors at no extra cost. If you need soap, hearing aid batteries, or specific hygiene items, simply send the team a list so they can pick them up, drop them off, and save you a drive to the local drug store.
Living Arrangements
Residents can look forward to decorating their private studio apartment using their beloved treasures and keepsakes from home. Semi-private apartments are also available at a lower cost. Residents can find comfort throughout the community as well because it includes soothing color-coding and circular hallways, which are used to promote safe wandering.
