  • Very Welcoming

    The staff is always nice and friendly. They'll answer any questions you have, and they answer the phone any time you call. We had some issues at the beginning with the new doctor they had there. So now we just take her to her regular doctors. The nurses there are perfectly fine, no issues there. Sometimes the food is pretty good, but other times it's just a piece of bread with some lunchmeat. That's the one thing she complains about. But overall, no issues big enough to really worry about.

However, we did not choose the facility just due to our loved ones health condition, they needed a specific type of care, and they are more active.

    My review of Brookdale Valparaisa Assisted Living

    Our family was able to do an in person tour and we had a great experience. The staff member we met with were super super friendly, and very helpful we have nothing bad to say. However, we did not choose the facility just due to our loved ones health condition, they needed a specific type of care, and they are more active.

  • Life Saving - I don't know what I would have done otherwise

    I didn't have direct, in-person experience with them, but they were super good with me over the phone. They were able to get our loved one moved in in a rush. The whole thing was really hard, but they did everything they could do to help. And I appreciated that. Toward the end, they were able to hook her up with hospice services. The nurses there were very helpful, and they knew who she was. They were never like "Who?" So that was good. They also refunded the prepaid monthly amount when she passed. They gave us about a week to remove her furnishings and things. She and her lifelong friend and roommate were both nurses, and I never heard any complaints from either of them about the staff or cleanliness. And I definitely would have had there been any issues. I would definitely recommend Brookdale. After working as a nurse, my loved one always said she'd never go into a nursing home. With the higher level of care that she needed at the time, I couldn't believe that Brookdale was able to take her. But they did. And I don't know what I would have done otherwise.
