Nearby, nature enthusiasts can enjoy the stunning Twin Lakes and Hinkson Woods, where you can fish or simply take in the idyllic views. The Museum of Art and Archaeology is also nearby among other historical and cultural attractions. You’ll also find several parks, golf courses, and fun and tasty restaurants to frequent and visit with loved ones.

Community Amenities and Services

This active community has plenty to offer, including music therapy, pet therapy, fitness classes, and intergenerational programs. Social events and parties are offered throughout the year, as well as weekly worship services for those who are spiritually inspired. Though caregiver support is available whenever you need it, how you wish to spend your time is up to you.

You'll enjoy many common areas, where you can relax and get to know your neighbors. You might have a cozy fireside chat in the living room, or head outside to the gardening beds for some quiet personal reflection. For entertainment, check out a book from the well-stocked library, or enjoy a classic film in the movie theater. Mealtime is a delight in the spacious dining room, where you’ll enjoy three savory home-cooked meals each day. The flexible dining hours make mealtimes convenient for you.

Pursue what you love while dedicated staff handles the work. Your apartment will be neat and tidy with housekeeping and laundry services. Take advantage of the shopping and errand service as well as scheduled transportation for outings and appointments.

Because your well-being is always a priority, the community offers ongoing assessments from a licensed nurse. These assessments help ensure you’re getting the care you need. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy may also be offered on-site. The community provides emergency pendants, which you can use to summon help 24/7 from anywhere in the community.

This community offers three levels of care. Supportive care levels consist of verbal reminders from caregivers to complete important tasks, such as bathing or brushing your teeth. These reminders help maintain healthy habits. Assistive care involves supervision from a caregiver to make sure daily tasks are completed successfully. Caregivers offer hands-on assistance if a task is difficult. Comprehensive care gives caregivers the lead on completing daily tasks, though independence is supported where possible. No matter the care level, all residents receive medication management.

Memory care residents receive this same excellent care but from a secure area of the community. In this specially designed area, your loved one will participate in activities with others who share a similar cognitive ability. They’ll also receive assistance from caregivers trained by a certified dementia practitioner. Nurse practitioners and physicians will visit with your loved one regularly.

  • Come One, Come All to Cedarhurst

It's been good overall. Nothing to complain about. The food is good. People are friendly. It's been clean overall except a couple of spots on the rug. They keep it painted and in good maintenance order. If you need help with maintenance, they send somebody up to help. They have an activities director that's full of energy and always has something going 5-6 days a week. They go fishing and on field trips to the mall. They have all sorts of games, live music a couple times a month, and a fun variety of activities. Today we're going bowling. Overall I'd recommend it here.

  • I would recommend

We chose Cedarhurst of Columbia because the first person I spoke to was so helpful and it made me feel more comfortable in placing my mom here. The room sizes here are very large and spacious. The only complaint I have had is that things are not quite as good on weekends, it seems like they may be a little short staffed. But Mondays through Friday things are great. I would recommend to others looking.
