  • Stay Away from Daybreak Village in Kennesaw, Georgia

My mother was at Daybreak Village in Kennesaw, Georgia for almost two years. She has dementia and was in the non- memory care side for approximately 9 mths before moving to the Memory Care Unit down the hall. The care my mother received In Memory Care was terrible. She was neglected, was not changed and/or taken taken to the bathroom in a timely fashion, and sustained injuries repeatedly. The injuries always happened when her sitter was not with her. I noticed at times the staff level was low, and there was a high turnover. Also, to my surprise, new residents were brought into my mother’s memory care and were not quarantined. When I addressed these issues with the director and owner, they said they would check into it, but nothing was done. And so, after almost two years, I finally made the decision to move my mom. My mother is now in another facility and the care level she is receiving is a drastic improvement from Daybreak. I would advise anyone who is looking for an Assisted Living or Memory Care for their parents or loved one - PLEASE DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER DAYBREAK VILLAGE! The care is bad, food is bad, management is only interested in getting more residents as was evident in the way my mother was dropped like a hot potato as soon as we signed the contract to move her in. Also, they claimed to have a COVID free facility until my mother tested positive, then they did not report it to the state until I filed a complaint with the health department. Daybreak is deceptive and makes promises it does not keep to the residents. Our seniors deserve to be respected and treated with dignity!

  • Keep your eyes on your love ones. Dont be fooled.

Read a review below. Background checks need to be done!!!. A few of the 'caregivers" have a bad background. My family had a relative there and one day in last few months a felon was arrested working there. The place is a pretty place and looks so warm and inviting. Some of the caregivers are very nice, but burned out due to understaff most of the time and no management to helpwith residents. When it was time to go on memory care side it got worse. People not being watched, 2 caregivers with over 20 severe memory care residents almost daily. dirty floors people wheels chairs with their urine on the floor. Then on the Villa side caregivers sitting and gossiping while memory care workers looked like they were tired and drained. A good place would have 1/ to 8. We heard upset stories from caregivers who finally had enough and quit. I am about to write letters to my respresentative for the rights of paying customers and the eldery on these places.

I am happy with the choice I made to move my wife and I to DayBreak. My wife has dementia and I was her primary caregiver at home. After some personal health issues, my children and I decided assisted living was the best option. We researched and toured 12 different facilities before making a choice.
