Our staff at Golden Oaks are trained in the field of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. There is a lot that goes into taking care of someone with Alzheimer’s and other types of Dementia. Our staff will not only care for their daily needs but also help them succeed at being the best they can be and meet them where they are cognitively and emotionally.

There is no cure for dementia and Alzheimer’s, and 1 in 11 Missouri and Kansas citizens are currently living with severe cognitive decline in later life (CDC, 2018). A significant number of clinical trials have shown that with the appropriate care strategies, Alzheimer’s and dementia patients can experience a better quality of life outcomes than ever before. Despite the growing science behind best care practices for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia, assisted living facilities are often slow to adopt evidence-based care models shown to drastically improve psychological functioning, promote meaningful social engagement, and enrich daily life.
