Come be a part of our extended family at one of our five beautiful locations in Carlsbad, California. We provide private rooms, a warm family atmosphere and a caring staff 24 hours a day. Nutritious and balanced home-cooked meals are served daily with accommodation made for residents with special dietary needs. At each facility, we provide individualized care options for each resident. Assistance with medications, bathing, dressing and daily living activities are included in our services. We aim to provide the highest standard of professional care in a safe and dignified environment, all with the comforts of home.

All five facilities are located in quiet residential neighborhoods in Carlsbad with close proximity to parks and beaches. They are operated under the close management of owners Jasmine and Vic and manager Tomas. They are well-known throughout their neighborhood and have a good reputation with the Department of Social Services, Licensees and Ombudsman.

Individual Care Plans - Our Goals:

To provide kind, safe and healthy support to residents and their families by individualizing care plans for each resident.
To honor, love and give each of them the chance to live with dignity.
To provide for them and support their stay as long as they need us.
Not to give up on them by sending them out to different homes when they need us the most.
To stay in touch with families and remember our residents long after they are gone.

High Staff/Resident Ratio

- We provide private rooms, a warm family atmosphere and caring staff that are trained to help dementia residents. Two caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day for six residents. Assistance with medication, bathing and dressing is included in our services. Dementia and hospice waivers are in place if needed.
Mobile Doctors, home health nurses, therapists and dentists visit as often as needed to provide medical assistance and support.

Meals

- Nutritious and balanced home-cooked meals are served daily with accommodation made for residents with special dietary needs.

Activities

are planned and they depend upon residents' interests and capabilities. Mornings start with light exercises after breakfast. We have house pets, we do gardening and we enjoy live singing and entertainment from a guitarist every other week.

In the spring, we visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields. In the summer we enjoy sunsets and walks on the Carlsbad beaches. During the fall, we have visits from children on Halloween and we prepare a Thanksgiving lunch. In the winter, we enjoy shopping at the Outlet Mall and getting ready for the holidays. Sometimes we visit the library, help with shopping for groceries at Costco, or just go for a ride.

It's a very friendly community. Some of the staff have been there for a very long time, and I think that speaks volumes. They're very friendly but very busy. I think they could probably use another person to help out. But all in all they're very kind and sweet, and great with the residents. They are always nice and kind to the residents, even if they're grumpy or ornery, and I know sometimes that can be challenging. The food could use some improvement. Sometimes they try to give the patients what they want to eat, and in my opinion, sometimes you just need to keep offering the fruits and vegetables. A lot of the residents are bedridden or have significant Alzheimer's, so it doesn't really make sense to have group activities. But they do take everyone to the dining room table so they can all eat together. And the people who work there will spoon feed them if needed. The help all like each other's company, which creates a harmonious and cheerful atmosphere. This was one of the cleanest places we 've been to. Every singe time I've been there, it's bee very clean - well dusted, just very pleasant and homey. It has a beautiful view of the golf course. It's quiet and peaceful. And they have a lovely backyard where they get people outside in their wheelchairs if needed when the weather is nice. So the residents can be out there in a little bit of sun and see an expansive view all the hillsides and trees. I think the cost is very good for what you're getting here. I also like that they have good emergency plans in place for earthquake and fire evacuation. They thought of everything.

  • A clean and well maintained community overlooking a golf course!

There are not a ton of activities at La Costa but my aunt does participate in a few. She has a patio and enjoys going outside. The staff are very nice and helpful. I have not tried the food but my aunt seems to like it and it seems to have a lot of nutrients.

  • Thomas and his staff have been extremely helpful and caring. I feel much more comfortable having my wife at this facility than I did at her former caregivers.
