  • Everything bigger in Texas is not necessarily better. Lonestar is a nice, affordable smaller facility.

The facility is very clean. The staff are friendly and answer all of my questions. Kudos to the new manager - he's excellent. He's personable, knows everybody by name, and you can go to him for help with anything. He has energy, and will call you back. There's a washer and dryer on each floor, and I was told that there would be washer/dryer hookups in the apartment. But after moving in, we found out that's not the case. It would be helpful to have that option in at least some of the apartments. It's a pet friendly community, with designated area for pets, and they seem to have a handle on people cleaning up after their pets. There's also a designated area for residents who smoke to go and smoke. The food was better at first. Right now It tastes okay. An example of a meal is a bun with shredded beef and then they might do 3 tater tots I feel like there's a lot of starch and not enough vegetables, and the portion size isn't balanced. Activities have been cut back a little due to Covid, but they still have a monthly calendar. I feel like it's a great value. I searched a lot of facilities, and I can't beat the cost here with three square meals a day, somebody comes in and cleans once a week, and I can bring in a caregiver to assist me.

Looks very good. Definitely a contender.

  • Nice and quiet community !

My sisters and I moved my dad here a week ago. He was very depressed. He already met so many residents and the move in process was just so simple and easier than we've imagined. Staff is so helpful and supportive. Meals are very good, apartments are nice and the price was the best we found in that area.
