About Northbrook Heights Assisted Living Community

Northbrook Heights Assisted Living Community is celebrating 40 years of excellence in providing quality care service for the senior population in the community of Auburn, New York and surrounding counties since 1974. Situated in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood, the building features a one-level living environment with private and shared rooms, and larger suites. Northbrook Heights offers both Adult Care Facility (ACF) and an Assisted Living Program (ALP) that allows residents to age in place as their needs change. Northbrook Heights is the only Assisted Living Program licensed by the New York State Department of Health in Cayuga County.

Health monitoring is provided daily by licensed nursing and social worker staff to determine residents' needs. This includes communication with physicians and other health/medical care providers and arranging appointments, obtaining prescribed medications, obtaining urgent care or emergency care if needed, and directing personal care staff to meet the changing care needs of each resident.

Residents enjoy a homelike environment and services provided by our hospitable staff. The carefree lifestyle includes housekeeping, linen and laundry services, personal banking, and an on-site beauty salon/barber shop. Enriching activities are provided daily to enhance the quality of life of our residents including, exercise, trips to local attractions, sing-a-long at the piano, dancing to the tunes of a variety of local entertainers, game nights, happy hour, our annual senior prom and block party.

Northbrook Heights is fortunate to have an experienced chef who is involved in the preparation of three homemade meals each day. Residents are provided the opportunity to provide input into the development of our seasonal menus which is then reviewed and approved by a Registered Dietician. Additionally, residents are offered between meal snacks daily.

  • Looks Good!

I recently toured Northbrook and I have to say I am impressed. So many facilities that I have toured in my search have this odor to them. This one seemed so clean and actually smelled good. There were so many staff members running around helping residents. I am hoping to hear back from them soon. Wish me luck.

  • Thank you!

I have lived at Northbrook for quite some time. I know places like this often get a bad rep but honestly, I'm glad I chose here. The staff actually care about my well being. Not just the aides. The food is pretty good. The activities are fun. It's just a great community and I'm thankful to be here.

  • Staff I met seemed very busy but were helpful. Residents in common areas seemed fine. The facility is rather sterile - concrete and tile throughout - more of a hospital feel. I believe they do accept Medicaid if private resources are depleted. They do not offer 'Enhanced' assisted living options, which it appears mom will require.
