Living Options and Amenities
We offer several styles of one- and two-bedroom apartments to suit a variety of needs and preferences. Some apartments offer views of the enclosed courtyard and direct access. Kitchenettes, private bathrooms with walk-in showers, individual climate control, and emergency call systems come standard. Housekeeping, laundry services, and maintenance are all available.
Care Types Offered
River Oaks is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:
Assisted Living Facility
A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:
Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.
Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.
Type C (Adult Foster Care): 4-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
