Strong Nursing: We excel at high end nursing, dementia, and hospice care. Our supervising nurse has 35+ years experience. We have an aide-to-resident-ratio of about 1:8 days, 1:18 nights.
Cozy: Our home has about 39 residents. We provide full services, with easy all-inclusive pricing. Rooms come furnished and decorated. We feel like a real warm home, not like a cold hotel.
Loyal: We personalize care and recreation. We fill our home with loving staff and volunteers. Since 2016, we only lost 3 residents to money. In VA & CT aid, residents get up to $4k+ monthly.
Unique: The owner is a Marine Iraq veteran with a Harvard PhD. Both his grandmothers lived at Shady Oaks. He lives next door. Residents and families have come to us from 62+ CT towns.
COVID-19: So far, as of Oct 2021, 0 residents have gotten COVID. We do frequent testing, wear KN95s, and use 75 air purifiers. We have in-home vaccinated visits with flexible hours.
Survey: Each year, we send anonymous surveys to the families of current and recent residents. Counting all 94 replies during the past three years, we average 4.9/5 overall. Many replies had nice notes of gratitude. Here is one: “Shady Oaks is a Bristol Treasure." Another one said, "I'm glad there is a place called Shady Oaks."
Remember Us: Since 2016, 20+ residents moved here from other assisted livings. Families say we have much better communication. Here, your loved one will feel safe, engaged, at-home, and proud.
