Hillhaven Assisted Living

For a patient with dementia, I don't think they provide enough stimulation. There aren't a lot of activities, but that has a lot to do with Covid. The staff that I've talked to are friendly, but they can be hard to get in touch with. I think they provide good care overall.

This place is not family owned. It's owned by Meridian Senior Healthcare. This facility is so unprofessional from the time you walk in the door. Rooms are not cleaned everyday until I complained. I am a retired nurse! Beware!

I have stayed at Hillhaven three times this year, twice for knee replacement rehabilitation and just recently for rehab due to a shoulder replacement. I have had ample time to observe the staff interacting, not only with me, but with other residents who are residing in their assisted living, rehabilitation rooms as well as full time residents who are there due to physical challenges of many origins. The staff care very much for those in their charge. The kitchen takes extra care to make sure that any dietary likes and dislikes are respected. The physical and occupational staff are thorough and take their time with those recovering from injuries or surgery. Their Social Activities coordinator, [name removed], goes out of her way to engage with all the residents, both permanent and temporary, to make sure that they have games, reading material, and activities to keep them at their best. The rooms are spotless, the halls are clean. There are no odors anywhere and I have never seen a resident in any condition but clean and well cared for. I have passed rooms where I could see employees spending time ensuring that residents who could not feed themselves were eating. I could point out much, much more because I cannot say enough good things about my experiences with Hillhaven as a rehabilitation patient. I had been in other nursing homes in the past, and this one is stars above all those others that I have personal experience with. FIVE STARS all the way!!!
