Sunrise of Metairie helps residents and their families feel at home the moment they step inside our community. Our compassionate team members prioritize residents and help them retain as much of their independence as possible, while promoting their health, wellness, and safety. We offer personalized assisted living services, short-term stays, memory care, and hospice coordination. Our team takes a holistic approach to providing care, and our designated Care Managers build relationships with each resident to better understand their needs. Many of our managers have been with Sunrise for over 10 years and are dedicated to providing quality care and hospitality.

Our community is close to many exciting attractions like the National WWII Museum, New Orleans Fairgrounds, French Quarter, casinos, and parks. We’re also conveniently close to many churches, synagogues, hospitals, and community centers. In addition to the diverse activities that we plan for residents daily, seniors’ also have the ability to explore and enjoy many local cultural celebrations, events, and famed New Orleans’ food.

Community Services and Amenities

Our team members emphasize the importance of communication and family. We have a family engagement app, which provides family members with community updates, as well as photos and videos of loved ones. We offer restaurant-style dining and our culinary team is happy to tailor your meals or cook personal recipes by request. We also offer schedules of on-site fitness, creative, social, educational, and spiritual activities.

We provide three, well-balanced meals to residents daily, as well as snacks. Our trained team members are available for around-the-clock service needs, and a licensed nurse provides monthly wellness visits to residents. In addition, we offer on-site physical and occupational therapy as well as physician visits. Meetings are scheduled by our staff for residents and their families to help keep everyone informed and updated.

Living Arrangements

Our living options include studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and companion suite floor plans to fit their needs, likes, and budget. Our team members assist with weekly housekeeping, personal laundry, building and grounds maintenance, as well as daily trash removal. Care Types Offered

Sunrise of Metairie provides Level 3 adult residential care. In the state of Louisiana, these terms are defined as follows:

Adult Residential Care

Adult residential care refers to facilities that provide adult residential care for compensation to two or more adults. Adult residential care includes but is not limited to the following services: lodging, meals, medication administration, intermittent nursing services, assistance with personal hygiene, assistance with transfers and ambulation, assistance with dressing, housekeeping, and laundry. There are four levels of adult residential care:

Level 1 (Personal Care Homes): Provides adult residential care to two but not more than eight residents in a setting that is designed similarly to a single-family dwelling
Level 2 (Shelter Care Homes): Provides adult residential care to nine or more residents but no more than 16 in a congregate setting that does not provide independent apartments equipped with kitchenettes
Level 3 (Assisted Living Facilities): Provides adult residential care to 17 or more residents in independent apartments equipped with kitchenettes.
Level 4 (Adult Residential Care Provider): Provides adult residential care including intermittent nursing services to 17 or more residents in independent apartments equipped with kitchenettes.
