Our colorful community supports and provides tailored care to seniors with a variety of health and personal needs. We’re a stand-alone memory community located in the heart of Whatcom county and are surrounded by stunning countryside views. We assist seniors with mild cognitive impairment, significant dementia, and end-of-life support. Our staff is readily available 24/7 and can also assist with a variety of personal services, including help with bathing, grooming, dressing, and more. We’re also happy to take care of daily housekeeping, maintenance, and any additional chores. We provide compassionate support and have created an attentive and comforting environment to best serve residents. You won’t find our one-of-a-kind SPARK program anywhere else, either! This program provides ample opportunities for seniors to participate in social activities, town hall meetings, fitness groups, interactive learning exercises, and more. We have everything you need in one place to live a happy, healthy, and full life!

Care Types Offered
The Bellingham at Orchard is an assisted living facility which provides enhanced adult residential care (EARC) with specialized dementia care services. In the state of Washington, these terms are defined as follows:
Assisted Living Facility
A facility that provides assistance with daily activities, health support services, and intermittent nursing services to seven or more residents. Health support services include dementia care and mental health care.
Enhanced Adult Residential Care (EARC)
This service package includes helping a resident who is able to take his/her own medication but needs some help (e.g. a reminder to take it or the medication handed to him/her), as well as help for a resident who can’t take his/her own medication (medication administration), and personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, personal hygiene). Residents who need to be monitored for their safety may get limited supervision. Some type of nursing care must be provided occasionally. No more than two people will share a room.
Specialized Dementia Care Services
This service package includes all services as outlined in the enhanced adult residential care package above and additional services for a resident with dementia.
