At the Courtyards at Knoxville - The Orchards, we’re proud to be a small-scale, family-based community. We have a charismatic, reliable team of caregivers who believe in our mission, The Eden Alternative. This is a growing movement in elder care which aims to improve the quality of life for those living in long-term care communities like ours. Through this, we’re committed to creating an environment that nurtures our residents’ relationships with themselves and each other, providing residents opportunities to give as well as receive care, and placing the maximum possible decision-making authority into the hands of our elders or those closest to them. Our city takes pride in our heritage and encourages residents and visitors to stop by the East Tennessee History Center or take a tour of our many battle sites and historic homes. For the excitement-seekers, check out Urban Wilderness for an outdoor adventure, take in the scenery by climbing to the top of the Sunsphere, or explore our tree-based zipline adventure park, Navitat. For those with an artsy spirit, roam through the many museums and displays in our downtown arts district or catch a show at the Bijou Theatre. Community Amenities and Services

Our reliable caregivers are happy to help residents with laundry services, as well as activities that can be difficult for some, such as dressing and bathing. Our community also offers specialized memory care, as well as ambulatory, diabetic, and incontinence care. Friendly, experienced team members will assist with medication management. We also have onsite hospice and a doctor, nurse, podiatrist, and various therapists on hand.

On a flexible schedule, we serve three balanced meals per day, including homemade breakfast treats like pancakes, fruit salads, and biscuits and gravy. Residents are also offered a selection of healthy snacks throughout the day to help keep them nourished and energized. In addition to our family-style dining area, residents are free to connect with each other in our spacious, charming common areas, whether by enjoying intimate conversation by the fireplace, sharing iced tea in our large sunroom, or breathing the fresh air in our vegetable garden.

We’re happy to offer residents a wide range of educational, inspirational, and all around fun activities to help keep them active and engaged. Residents are free to nurture their spiritual lives with both on- and off-site devotional activities and are encouraged to get creative with our classes in cooking and art, and to show off their green thumb by joining our gardening club. We also offer various programs centered around mental and physical fitness, community service, and even pets!

With respite or short term stays offered, residents can enjoy private and shared suites, each equipped with a personal emergency response system.
