The Harbor at Renaissance

If you enjoy a quiet rural lifestyle, you’ll feel right at home at The Harbor at Renaissance. Take in the rolling green fields and beautiful trees, while you relax in our care. We’re conveniently located within driving distance of the shops at Countryside Square, as well as several dining options.

We offer assisted living and memory care for seniors in the greater Charlottesville area and strive to treat every person with dignity and respect. Veterans may be eligible for the Aid & Attendance benefit, and we are happy to provide you with resources to help you in the application process. We also encourage you to check your insurance policies as care may be covered.

Community Services and Amenities

We believe in offering you a variety of activities to do by yourself, or with friends and neighbors — in order for you to feel fulfilled. You can join an exercise class, or go on one of our staff-supervised outings to educational and recreational events. We have live musical entertainment for you to enjoy within our community, and you’ll enjoy crafting, board games, and cards in our multipurpose room or one of our cozier gathering spaces.

Look your best after visiting the on-site beauty and barber shop. Take advantage of some of the relaxing outdoor areas, like a gazebo and large country porch. We even have gardening plots, where you can grow your own gorgeous flowers! Our courtyards are secure, making the walking paths ideal for all residents. You can grab a snack from the always-stocked snack bar, or enjoy a healthy meal in the dining hall, which offers three meals a day. If it suits your interests, you can also join a Bible study group.

You’ll receive an emergency pendant, which you can use to reach one of the caring staff members if you ever need help — they are available around the clock. We’ll keep an eye on your health and well-being with regular check ups. While we respect your desire for independence, we’ll gladly help you with bathing, grooming, and dressing if you’d like. We’re also happy to help arrange transportation for you, so you can run an errand, attend a church service, or go to the doctor.

The Harbor at Renaissance offers a higher level of care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The Purposeful Day program is designed to trigger the senses through music, reminiscing, sounds, and scents. Trusted voice therapy, which involves recordings of a loved one’s voice, as well as time and place therapy, help reduce agitation. We also help our community at large by providing caregiver training to families caring for a loved one in need of memory care at home. We encourage families to visit The Harbor regularly to provide encouragement and support to their loved ones within our care.

Your job is to enjoy yourself, so leave all the chores to us! We provide housekeeping and laundry services to everyone in the community. We’ll also help supervise your medications and coordinate refills for you.

Living Arrangements

Our assisted living community offers private and semi-private room options. All of our bathrooms offer sit-down showers as an extra safety feature. With this peace of mind, you’ll be able to relax in your new home. You can even add your favorite decorations to make the space your own.

State Classification

The Harbor at Renaissance is an assisted living facility, which in the state of Virginia is a congregate residential setting that provides or coordinates personal and health care services, 24-hour supervision, and assistance for the maintenance or care of four or more residents who are aged, infirm, or disabled, and who are cared for in a primarily residential setting.
