  • Highly recommend

The staff was wonderful. I believe my loved one got the best care possible given the situation. They worked very closely and well with the hospice services that were needed at the time. It's a kind, caring, facility. I'm confident that had I been able to go in (I live outside the area) I would have been pleased. My impression was that it was very well run and well managed, with good, qualified staff.

  • Barrington Is The Place To Be Just Ask Me

My mom has been at Barrington for a year now. She is always clean, her hair is done, her room is clean, her meals r delicious, she gets her medications on time and she's involved in activities. Her overall health has actually improved and she's lost weight, which has helped with her diabetes. The staff truly care about the people they serve. They work hard to keep the residents involved with holidays, lots of activities, outings in the community. This is one of the BEST places I've ever seen. There's times when we go to see my mom and she would rather be involved with her friends than to go get ice cream with us lol. The best part about Barrington is the residents can get outside in the courtyard but can't get out and get hurt or lost. That's a huge relief for family members who have loved ones who wander. I can't say enough good things about Barrington. To me Barrington is like having a little piece of heaven right here on earth for people who struggle with this cruel disease. I will forever be grateful for how Barrington has loved my mom, treated her with respect and gone the extra mile when shes had bad days. They have also treated us with respect and dignity while we watch our dear sweet mom go on this difficult road of dementia.

  • worst place ever, no integrity

Do not send your loved one a JEA facility! Care plans are not followed, management teams have NO integrity, and we have found them to be big BULLIES! The only positive was the handful of CNA's, not all - but most, who seemed kind and willing to care for the residents as far as they were allowed to by the nursing staff. We just got my dad home from a facility in Clinton, UT and it has been nothing short of a nightmare after having to shower him every time we went to see him, a trip to the ER and being advised by the ER to take him home for 4 days while starting the new lasix medication, and finally after a month of sores on his backside because they wouldn't take him to the bathroom or clean him properly after they made him mess himself, we've brought him home again to heal his behind. And to top it off, the next day they called and said we could not bring him back! How dare, they or anyone else, think they can treat our elderly this way - taking advantage of the vulnerable situation caretakers find themselves in or a loved one. The sores will heal but the stress and exhaustion may never. We tried to follow their requests to email (week 1) them about concerns immediately and to give them 48 hours...however, nothing started to change until the start of week 5 - most things, sadly, did not. Good sales pitch but they didn't deliver! We were rushed from the minute we arrived to tour the joint, sign the paper work, give them the check, and kiss dad goodbye...less than 2 hours - such a scam!
