The Wellington at Arapaho currently offers 18 floor plan options to choose from, which include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. All units feature wall-to-wall carpeting, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and wheelchair-accessible bathrooms equipped with grab bars and walk-in showers.
The independent living apartments include full-sized appliances in the kitchen, while the assisted living neighborhood features lovely kitchenettes. Select units include beautiful granite countertops and a private patio or balcony area as well, so you can enjoy the fresh air without leaving the apartment.
The Wellington at Arapaho also offers short-term and respite stays for those recovering from surgery or those who simply want to check out what life is like at the community before making a long-term commitment. Guests must stay for a minimum of two weeks and are able to reside in their own private, furnished apartment. Just like long-term residents, guests have complete access to all of the community’s services, amenities, and activities.
Care Types Offered
The Wellington at Arapaho is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:
Assisted Living Facility
A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:
- Type A:
- A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.
- Type B:
- A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.
- Type C (Adult Foster Care):
- Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
