Living Arrangements
Retreat to the familiarity and comfort of your own private apartment after a busy day filled with activities. Whitley Place currently offers five different assisted living and one memory care floor plan options, enabling you to decide which layout and price point works best for you. Choose from studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, all of which feature wall-to-wall carpeting and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.
Both assisted living and memory care apartments include a large, wheelchair-accessible bathroom equipped with grab bars, a walk-in shower, and other safety features. The assisted living apartments come with a convenient kitchenette and many of them also feature a private patio or balcony area as well, so you can enjoy the fresh air without changing out of your slippers!
Whitley Place also offers short-term and respite stays for those recovering from surgery or who just want to experience what life is like at the community before making a long-term commitment. All stays must last a minimum of two weeks. Based on availability, guests stay in their own private, furnished apartment and have access to the same amenities, services, and activities as long-term residents. Care Types Offered
Whitley Place is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:
Assisted Living Facility
A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:
- Type A:
- A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.
- Type B:
- A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.
- Type C (Adult Foster Care):
- Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
