  • A great place to translation from a home to a senior living facility

Our first impression was just how nice the community is overall, our loved one apartment is very nice with granite counter tops, full kitchen and a washer and dryer inside the unity. There are also a lot of activities for the residents to take part in.

  • Great place if your parent is truly ready for the move.

Our loved one had a short stay here, which was no fault of Parc of Duluth. He was just resistant to being there, and kept forgetting he had agreed to move in. The only complaint I have - and it's not really a complaint now that I've visited more places - is that I believe that elderly people suffer from memory loss, period. And there's really no way to know how far that has progressed. The staff was pretty good with our family through the process. In hindsight, I think they were doing a lot more than we were giving them credit for during the week or so he was there. The onboarding process was difficult to deal with, especially the 3-day quarantine period when he first moved in. We thought he would have ambassadors to take him under his wing so he wouldn't have time or opportunity to drive us nuts. But that wasn't the case as much as we would have liked or were expecting. And perhaps our expectations were too high - it is independent living after all. The food was not that great, but their activities offerings looked okay. Given what we saw at other facilities, the value is pretty good, although the cost is still high.
