We toured The Hearth on James and loved this facility. The only reason we did not choose it was because of the location, it is in the city and my mom wanders.

  • My brothers experience with this community

The cleanliness of the community was very good, and we thought it was a very nice and safe community. The residents seemed very friendly and we didn't see anybody that was really sick or loud or disturbing to others. We would recommend this community. Our loved one did fall a couple and unfortunately had to be transferred to a new community.

  • Overall good community

During COVID we have to commend the staff members for being conscientiousness and follow protocol, however we do have two issues that we aren't happy with. The first one, is they are providing outside visits, but we sit at a table in the parking lot with no sun protection. Even if its cold, hot, or raining we have to sit outside on those tables. There is no plan on having the visits indoors with the weather changing. The other thing is, they send our weekly newsletters to the families stating everyone is still COVID free, but with those newsletters they are trying to sell us their cleaning services which is frustrating. However, besides these two things the community is great, its kept very clean and the staff is very professional. The staff is very friendly, and go out of there way to help us out. We did have an interaction with the front desk lady when we came to visit and she was quite snippy with us, but we do feel that our in-laws are at a safe place. They do complain about the food, they say it is not good at all. They are on the second dinner shift where by that point the tend to run out of a lot of items. During Lent they were very excited to eat the fish on Friday's but by the time it was their turn to be served the fish was already gone.
