Our memory care teams are specially educated in caring for those with dementia. Not only are they trained in accordance with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Guidelines for Dignity, but according to Azura’s exclusive MOSAIC training program as well. This unique combination of skills allows our teams to properly approach and interact with residents and effectively open a dialogue. At Azura Memory Care of Oconomowoc, we recognize that dementia only affects certain parts of the brain, not the whole person.

Community Amenities and Services

With our high caregiver-to-resident ratio, we are able to take the time to properly attend to the needs of each individual. Our caregivers learn personal preferences and histories in order to effectively communicate and engage with residents on a one-on-one basis. Our experienced and caring team is available on-site 24 hours a day to provide personalized management of any aggressive behaviors that may be caused by wandering, sundowning, or even anxiety. Diabetic care, incontinence care, and medication management services are available around the clock, as well, and we also provide assistance with daily living activities, like dressing, grooming, and using the toilet.

Azura Memory Care of Oconomowoc collaborates with local physicians, therapists, and even hospice providers to assist with higher medical needs that are not offered on-site. Visiting podiatrists, optometrists, and other specialists stop by the community regularly to meet with residents about any medical, mental, or emotional concerns they may have.

Azura provides a variety of innovative therapies and activities through our MOSAIC program. These programs help residents reminisce and connect with others in unique ways. For example, our creative therapy allows residents to express their feelings through poetry, crafts, and painting. We also organize other exciting activities throughout the week — such as a gardening club, brain games, and even live entertainment — to help everyone stay physically, mentally, and socially active.

Living Options

Azura Memory Care of Oconomowoc currently offers private studio suites for all individual residents to enjoy. For couples, we offer enhanced suites as well, in order to give you some extra room. Each suite includes a private bathroom with a roll-in shower, RCare response system, and grab bars for safety and convenience. Built-in cabinetry is scattered throughout the apartment, providing plenty of storage space. Feel free to decorate your suite with personal touches in order to make it feel just like home.

Care Types Offered

Azura Memory Care of Oconomowoc is a community based residential facility (CBRF), which in the state of Wisconsin is a facility that provides care, treatment, and other services to five or more unrelated adults who need supportive or protective services or supervision. CBRFs are limited to those who do not require care above intermediate nursing care or more than three hours of nursing care per week. CBRFs are categorized by size, the resident's ability to evacuate, and disability/condition or status.
