  • Our Tour Experience

    We toured at Brookdale Englewood and would have used them, but they filled up during the timeframe we needed for a respite stay. I liked that it's a pretty small community. The salesperson is very nice and has stayed in touch. Of course you can never really know how it will go until you actually have a stay there.

  • Would Recommend It to People

    So far so good. My loved one has early onset Alzheimer's. So there are some tings I get a little concerned about, but I think they've been taking care of her very well. It's just that her dementia is getting worse, so it's hard for me to rely on her self report. But every time I've been there they've been wonderful. I know it's better than when she was living at home, which is a big plus. I like that she has a single room. And it's been very clean. Also, it never smells, even in her bathroom. Her bed is always made and looks nice, and she always looks nice and clean as well, which is very important to me.

    I think the community is top heavy, and the care staff has a lot of turnover. I would recommend avoiding if you are a person of color. You feel at times that the community has systematic racism. I don't feel that they reach out to the community, to find this out. I realize that most of the care staff are the ones of color taking care of my loved one. I don't see anyone like me in upper level administration who I feel comfortable going to. I do like the fact that the memory care area only has 13 residents.
