Cambridge, Massachusetts is steeped in history and has a lot to offer to anyone lucky enough to call it home. Our community at Cadbury Commons is directly across the street from beautiful Danehy Park, and minutes from Fresh Pond Golf Course, Harvard Square, Washington Elm, and Museum of Modern Renaissance.
Our pet-friendly community offers independent and assisted living options, as well as memory and respite care for those who need it. We strive to meet your needs and interests, no matter what they may be or how much help you would benefit from.
Community Amenities and Services
Our community is a vibrant and engaging place, with resident input driving our activities. If you want to stay active, try yoga, gardening in the courtyard, group exercise classes, and dance lessons led by visiting Arthur Murray instructors. Creative individuals will appreciate our guest lecture series, rotating art exhibits, guest musicians, choral singing, and our resident-run play reading group. We’ll support you spiritually through guided meditations, support groups for men and women coordinated by a social worker, and complimentary transportation to attend worship services. Stay sharp with chess, group discussions of current events, books brought in from the Cambridge Public Library, and bridge games. Plus there’s always fun to be had with our nightly movie selections, happy hour in our very own pub, and museum trips. Keep in mind, this is just a small taste of what we have to offer!
Our meals are truly an experience, with some seasonal offerings which include ingredients from our own gardens. Our chef works hard to create meals that you can enjoy while dining with your friends and neighbors in our dining room, and even hosts monthly meetings so you can give suggestions for future menus. All of our residents are served three delicious meals every day. We offer heart-healthy and low sodium dishes and can accommodate most dietary restrictions.
Everyone will enjoy the benefits of our wellness program. We’ll conduct an initial health assessment and create an individualized care plan for you, if needed. You can also have periodic health check-ins to make sure you’re thriving in our community. Some of the things we offer you are blood pressure monitoring and weight management, on-site podiatry and dental services, self-administered medication management, 24-hour access of our nursing staff, and assistance with coordinating any off-site services you may need.
Living Arrangements
If you are one of our independent living residents, you’ll be able to focus entirely on what interests you and leave all the work to us! We’ll clean your apartment for you regularly, and wash your towels and linens for you, as well as your clothes, if you’d like.
Our assisted living residents receive extra support to stay as independent as possible. We’re happy to make your bed for you, take out the trash, and tend to all your laundry. We’ll follow your customized care plan to offer you everything you need.
Morningside is our memory care wing. Here, we’ll help encourage independence when appropriate, and offer an individualized plan that incorporates your loved one’s hobbies, past career, and life experiences. We lead daily exercises to help increase cognitive function, and our specially trained staff provides security, support, and a routine.
If you’re joining Cadbury Commons for respite care, you’ll stay in one of our fully furnished apartments, which includes TV and local phone services. You’ll get to enjoy all of the same wonderful amenities as our full-time community members.
No matter what your ideal retirement lifestyle or care setting may entail, we’re confident Cadbury Commons can accommodate your needs!
