  • Nursing staff in Rehab dept is not the best.

My mother went to Rehab on 2nd floor after a fall. She was given good OT, PT but Nursing staff was only so-so. She lost 10 pounds while there. She said "They took my food tray away before I finished everything." She said "Certain staff is lazy and very slow to assist in toileting." She was encouraged to wet herself in depends at night, rather than being assisted to bathroom to relieve herself. Sounds like pure laziness. Her condition regressed in personal hygiene care she received but her movements (PT, OT) improved while there. She sometimes complained meals were chosen for her without her advisement. She does not eat chili hot dogs or brats or french fries and that was sometimes chosen by staff. While she complained to Social Worker that some staff needs correction in certain areas, Administration never inquired on her issues. So, I guess 'no news is good news' to Congregational Rehab?? They'd rather not make corrections. Too bad. This used to be a much better facility. My father had care here many, many years ago and it was top notch. Nursing staff needs a definite review!

  • Good rehab

Mom had a pretty good experience with the rehabilitation department. The food was excellent. The community was beautiful. Mom did not feel the therapists were as good as the ones at the community she is at now. It was like a hotel suite.
