Since 1974, Flushing House was one of the first communities to offer independent living for older adults, coupled with supportive services right on the premises. Studio and one bedroom apartments are rented on a month to month basis and include utilities and Retirement Home TV Package. Each apartment offers a full bathroom, temperature control units and Euro-style kitchenette.
To assist residents with daily living, many supportive services are provided. Restaurant-style dining in the ground floor dining hall includes continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Weekly housekeeping and linen exchange service is provided, plus concierge services, and 24-hour security with emergency intercoms in all apartments.
A comprehensive activities program includes arts and crafts, concerts, a computer center, fitness center, movies, game nights and trips each week on the Flushing House bus. They also feature an interfaith chapel, library, TV and game rooms, general store, beauty salon, and spectacular rooftop lounge and atrium overlooking the New York skyline.

Flushing House residents can access the services [of community partners TJH Medical Services, Fox Rehabilitation, Addus Home Health, Girling Health Care, which provide an onsite satellite geriatric clinic, rehabilitation and onsite home health aides, respectively. Residents can use these or any provider they choose.
