  • Care and value for care

I toured this community for care. The staff was nice and they were able to answer the questions we wanted a different layout for my mom to be able to get around. The menu was appealing and the activities would have been helpful. We liked this community and would suggest this for good care and options for loved ones.

  • Excellent Care, at Compass at Hopkinton MA

My mother is currently living at Compass at Hopkinton in MA. She has severe Dementia, but still recognizes me and my 2 sisters. Since this is all new to me, (I know very little about Dementia) I do not have anything to compare it to. The direct care staff are all very nice, the admin staff are also nice. The residents are well cared for, fed, bathed, dressed, and changed when necessary. Daily activities vary, and my mother dislikes many of the activities, but that is the nature of Dementia. The dining/living area is sunny, and very pleasant. Everyone has their own bedroom, furnished with their own things and decorated with their own paintings/ old photographs, etc. there are 2 bedrooms per suite, with a shared bathroom between them. For my Mom, this is the most ideal situation out there, as she cannot sleep with another person in her room. Floors are mopped frequently, and staff do all the laundry, and make everyone's bed, and tidy their rooms, for those unable to do it themselves. Hallways are wide enough to allow people using "walkers" and wheelchairs to come and go with little difficulty. A hair salon is located in the building, as well as the physical therapy department. The grounds are pretty, wooded, with a small pond that kids skate on in the winter, my Mom loves to watch that from the huge picture window. family and friends are able to visit and take their family member out at any time without making arrangements first, the staff is very flexible about this, which I think is just great. I also am able to bring my Mom's dog to visit her, which makes her , as well as her dog, very happy. This is a locked unit on the 3rd floor of a very pretty building. I looked at 3 or 4 other places, nothing is "perfect", but Compass at Hopkinton meets all of our needs quite nicely.

  • Wonderful place. Companion...

Wonderful place. Companion space might be too small for dad. The other options are out of his price range. I think he will need more care than what is being offered here.
