  • I like the fact they have the continuum of care with SNF and Memory. The facility felt more institutionalized. Rooms smaller than I anticipated. An alternative, but number 3 or 3 facilities.

  • If you love your senior, go elsewhere

I'm sorry to have ever let my mother become a resident at the Green Mountain Brookdale. The other review noting that residents are just sitting around, mostly sleeping, is 100% accurate. The list of complaints I have is lengthy starting with being charged for personal care that was not being provided, paying for meal delivery service and only receiving part of what was ordered which was always cold and several times a week not being given silverware to eat it with, having the weekly cleaning of the apartment included in the rent to only have it cleaned (if you can call it that) a handful of times in 10 months, to the lack of skill or compassion of many of the caregivers. I have photographic and written documentation of all of the complaints I have listed above. Brookdale is solely a money generating enterprise, only concerned about making a profit and not caring at all about their residents or their caregiving staff. My mother has since passed but do you think one of the members of the management team at that facility (that I spoke with on a regular basis about my concerns) could have offered a call, email or note of condolence? No. Hopefully it is because they are ashamed of the lack of service provided and the way my mother was treated there.

  • No Place for Mom or Grandma

I was at Brookdale Green Mountain til Thursday, July 28. I will never go back there again. My surgeon told me I had to only me in Rehab for a week after surgery. I had back surgery which was not bad at all. But I have osteoarthritis in other joints in my body which gave me my problems. Once I mastered getting in and out of bed there was not problem. The CNA's are overworked and may need an attitude adjustment. Many times you ring for a CNA for aid to the bathroom and they would appear 20 minutes later. I was a little bit more mobile than others so I began going to the restroom by myself when I should not have. When it came to the dining room it was a joke They would give you a menu, you would mark it and then when you got your meal they would not have had what you ordered. Instead of coming back and asking you what you would prefer instead they brought you something worse instead upgrading the item. One little lady at our table who is 97 ordered a muffin, margarine and coffee. They were out of muffins and brought her this dry piece of toast with a dab of melted butter in the middle. I asked if she would like an English muffin and she said yes I told the CNA to bring it to her. My roommate waited one hour for a CNA and by the time they came she had had an accident. They use the CNA's as wait staff in the dining room which overworks these women or men. I am more fortunate than many of the patients because I am more mobile than many of the patients. They did not want be to leave after my week. They told they had to have 3 days notice. I had telling everyone that I was leaving on Thursday. But they have meetings to determine whether you are fit to leave. Apparently the Social Worker who I never saw makes these decisions. They tried to tell all the bad things that could happen--they would not give me meds that Medicare had supplied to me, I may have to repay the bill because if I left AMA Medicare could deny all expenses. Medicare pays for 2 weeks and that is what the want you stay--money. Like I stated I will never go back there.
