Cozy interiors combined with our quaint grounds create a picturesque atmosphere at Promenade at University Place, where we offer assisted living and memory care services in Albany, New York. Promenade at University Place is located in the center of New York State’s capital, surrounded by many historical districts and cultural events. Our more scholarly residents will be thrilled to reside across the street from University of Albany, which attracts many academic speakers. Our mission at Promenade at University Place is to enrich residents’ lives with endless experiences and optimism.

Being family owned and operated for many years now, we understand how difficult these trying times can be. In order to ensure that your loved one receives care that benefits their individual requirements, our staff meets with residents and their families to gain a better understanding of their medical, personal, and spiritual needs. We will then create a customized care plan tailored to fit those specific needs and preferences.

Community Amenities and Services

As we grow older, simple routines and daily tasks can become more challenging over time, which can lead some to feel like they are losing their independence. At Promenade at University Place, we try to find the correct balance between assistance and freedom, so you can receive the necessary support while maintaining a sense of dignity and respect. Our skilled nurses are on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering assisted living services. We provide around-the-clock ambulatory care, medication management, and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing and dressing. On-site physical and occupational therapy is provided by our highly trained therapists for those with rehabilitative needs. We also work with local specialists to coordinate regular on-site visits, so you don’t have to worry about organizing reliable transportation. Your health and safety is important to us, which is why we will continue to monitor your needs over time and alter your care plan accordingly.

For residents living with Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related illnesses, we provide specialized services in our secure memory care unit. This section of the community is uniquely designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the cognitively impaired. By limiting excess stimulation and providing more intimate care, our specially-trained caregivers are able to help residents feel calm, safe, and cared for.

Staying physically, mentally, and socially active is a crucial component of living a healthy and happy lifestyle. At Promenade at University Place, staff members provide regular housekeeping, laundry, and linen services, and our culinary team serves three spectacular meals daily. This relieves residents from the stressors of daily chores and allows them more time to participate in our regular social and recreational activities, such as fitness classes, trivia night, happy hours, and off-site trips to local attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. With new activities and splendid amenities at your fingertips, you’ll never run out of things to do.

My mom just became a resident of the Promenade at University Place in their new Alzheimer s unit and I was impressed with the compassion shown by [name removed] as we went through the intake process. She truly cares for all the residents and goes out of her way to make sure they are happy with their surroundings. Odette treated us like family!

  • Wonderful facility

My aunt, [name removed], has lived in the facility for two years. I spent two days with her when she first moved in and was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their attention to her needs. I ate delicious chef prepared meals and participated in their exercises and activities. The first day she was determined that she was not going to get up for breakfast but the second day she was there and ready for activities after eating and has been actively involved ever since. Since the unfortunate quarantine, I have been working with [name removed] to keep in touch with her through zoom and now [name removed] and I are working on a virtual birthday party for her at the end of April. If you are considering the Promenade, I encourage you to join their great community. .

  • Nice facility in area of shopping centers, many restaurants, and the U of Albany across street.Promenade is a Medicaid approved facility so most services and care can be covered if income level eligible. Accomodations are all on 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors so need some mobility to use elevators. Studios and one bedroom accomodatioons are standard furnished but you can bring own furnishings. Medicaid/billing coordinator very helpful w/navigating system.
