Scarborough Terrace is a community located in the beautiful, serene city of Scarborough, Maine, where we offer assisted living, memory care, and respite care services. Upon arrival, visitors and prospective residents will find the ideal place to age in grace. Our stately community is designed with socialization in mind. Our common areas are in the central building, surrounded by resident homes, making accessibility around campus effortless.

Scarborough Terrace is wonderfully established, with grounds embellished with lovely trees, a garden, and a peaceful courtyard that residents often frequent and enjoy. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best care services possible, from assisting with activities of daily living to simple camaraderie, Scarborough Terrace is a fulfilling and respectable home. We take pride in being what residents need in these golden years of their lives.

Community Amenities and Services

Life is meant to thrive, and at Scarborough Terrace, we emphasize the recreation and expansion of mind, body, and soul — all vital to the overall well-being of every resident. Caregiving staff is available around the clock for any immediate needs, and our hard-working hospitality staff are available for regularly scheduled housekeeping and maintenance services as well, so residents can enjoy the leisure of their day with no concerns or stress. Our highly trained chef prepares three, delicious restaurant-style meals daily with menu options, enabling residents to have autonomy in their dietary choices.

Our indoor and outdoor common areas are often filled with conversation, music, and the congregation of the vibrant personalities that inhabit our community. We provide an array of amenities and services that residents enjoy, including enriching social, cultural, and educational activities and events. We also offer convenient scheduled transportation services, allowing residents to enjoy outings and excursions to places like Higgins Beach, Fuller Farm Trail, Bayley’s Seafood Restaurant, and much more. Living Arrangements

Prospective residents can enjoy the comfort of their own living spaces in our select units. We currently have private and semi-private units available, and all of our units are equipped with cable TV, phone, Wi-Fi, and a utilities package. Residents are also provided with a pendant call system and in-room call systems to quickly notify members of our staff of any time-sensitive needs.

Care Types Offered

Scarborough Terrace is a Level IV residential care facility. In the state of Maine, these terms are defined as follows:

Residential Care Facility

A house or other place that provides assisted living services to residents. Residential care facilities provide housing and services to residents in private or semi-private bedrooms in buildings with common living areas and dining areas. There are four levels of residential care facilities:

Level I: A facility with a licensed capacity of one or two residents.
Level II: A facility with a licensed capacity of three to six residents.
Level III: A facility with a licensed capacity of three to six residents, and which employs three or more persons who are not owners and are not related to the owner.
Level IV: A facility with a licensed capacity of more than six residents.

  • Grounds well maintained. Community is quiet and well off US Route 1. COVID protocols in place, masks on visitors. [name removed] answered my questions and concerns. She is very personable. She is an RN and worked in this industry for 30 years. This community is an aging in place community. Independent living, assisted, & Memory care. Pricey, but I have noticed cost are within range of other Southern Maine facilities. My Big concern is running out on money for loved one. Clean. model apartments, private studio and Double Studio set up to view. Many activities for community members. At time of tour, community members setting up for arm chair fitness. 24/7 staff, medication management. Love the quietness of this community in Scarborough. I know my loved one would like it. Transportation is available.
