  • Friendly staff, very clean building.

Right now, they're not communicating very well. They've had a changeover in ownership, and I know that change takes time. But when you're dealing with the elderly population, I feel like you need to be spot-on rather quickly to address the residents' needs. It's been 3-4 weeks now, and by this time I feel like I should be getting emails or something. My loved one can't remember everything there is to tell me. When they were The Blake, the staff were sending emails regularly, and the new ownership is not sending anything yet. That being said, I'm not moving her anytime soon. She likes it there a lot. It's very clean, and the staff seems to be very friendly. The current ownership just needs to communicate a little better.

  • Would not recommend to anybody

The management there was awful, and they constantly harassed our loved one. He had a collection of $2 bills and it was stolen. When we confronted the management about it, less the half the amount of money was returned to us. Our loved ones room was extremely dirty, and the bed was not set up correctly so our loved one would fall out of it. To us it looked broken. They did not attend to our loved ones need or give the proper care. They would send our loved one to the emergency room every single week, and the doctor each time would call saying he is not sure why our loved one is there. It was a terrible experience.

  • The Blake is a nice place for loved ones who can full function on their own, but not for those with medical issues.

Before moving our loved one in, we spoke with the director to discuss their health issues. Our loved one has Parkinson's which caused them to shake and fall. They assured us that would not be a problem and that they would be able to handle it, that however was not the case. On top of the care services we had to pay, they told us we needed to hire a 24 care taker for our loved one. At one point our loved one had to go to the hospital, once they were discharged The Blake would not accept our loved one back unless we hired a 24 hour care taker.
