Nestled in the quiet Shepard Park neighborhood of Highland Park in St. Paul, The Wellington Assisted Living has been a part of the community serving older adults and their families for 30 years.

Our location is convenient to downtown St. Paul, the Highland Village area, the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and The Mall of America. Our community is located near retail shopping, various community centers, places of worship and sits in a beautifully landscaped park-like area.

The Wellington offers peace of mind, quality care and choice in an atmosphere of privacy and reassurance. Staff encourages independence and an active, fulfilling life-style for our residents while at the same time providing assistance for continued health and well-being. Our team is dedicated to providing an environment of comfort and dignity.

We offer restaurant-style dining, housekeeping, scheduled transportation, many stimulating and diverse activities provided by our recreation staff, wellness and educational programs, and support groups. Our licensed nurses and our home health aides are available to meet the needs of our residents 24 hours a day. We have forged strong alliances with other health care vendors to bring an array of other professional services to our residents including a visiting physician program, on-site rehabilitative therapies, foot care and lab services. As an active member of Aging Services of Minnesota, we are committed to a code of ethics and support the mission of providing service and care to older adults.

  • Our tour experience

    Our family had an in person tour and out of the communities we looked at this one was just not quite as nice. There was nothing wrong with it per say, it just was not something that really blew us away.

  • My experience at The Wellington

    I chose The Wellington at the time because I was selling my home and wanted to stay in the same area that I am familiar with. I like my apartment a lot and think the size is good, I am in the large 1 bedroom. I think the food could use improvement, it is not particularly nutritious so I think a dietitian could help give them guidance on good quality food that is nutritious. I also think they could be better with communication to residents about what is going on. I think they could benefit from an introduction packet for new residents. The staff members here are great and I would recommend to others looking as long as the food improves.

    My experience at The Wellington

    I chose The Wellington at the time because I was selling my home and wanted to stay in the same area that I am familiar with. I like my apartment a lot and think the size is good, I am in the large 1 bedroom. I think the food could use improvement, it is not particularly nutritious so I think a dietitian could help give them guidance on good quality food that is nutritious. I also think they could be better with communication to residents about what is going on. I think they could benefit from an introduction packet for new residents. The staff members here are great and I would recommend to others looking as long as the food improves.

    My parent spent one year here. The staff was kind and helpful. They had a lot of problems with their food service and employees. The furniture in the common area is filthy. The have many empty apartments and rent to non seniors in need of assisted living. People coming and going at all hours. Doors stay unlocked from the inside My parents apartment was shown to a young couple in need of an apt. Very weird . we have since moved from here
