Where The Heart Is has been designed as four assisted-living communities within one building. Each community has its own living room for visiting, television viewing or just relaxing, and a dining room where three meals are served each day. The library serves as a place for activities like a game of cards, reading or bible study.

The layout of each community encourages social interaction and fosters better relationships. Our staff is more aware of activity levels and has a greater opportunity to get to know each resident.

It makes sense. If a resident need only step outside their door for a bite to eat or for a game of cards they are likely to participate. If they have to walk down a long hallway or leave their floor to take part, they may not choose to do it as easily.

Our staff is chosen for their experience, ability and flair for interaction between residents and co-workers. The concept of customer service from yesteryear can be found at Where The Heart Is.

The Cottage is specifically designed for high functioning residents with Alzheimer's or Dementia. The goal of the Cottage is to maintain a more active role in the early stages of Alzheimer's that will give the individual a better quality of life. A hobby room for arts and crafts was added as studies have shown early-stage Alzheimer's sufferers' often benefit and even excel in those activities.

Where The Heart Is is more than a place to live - it is a community. Enjoy our salon, our library, our gardens, and our open living and activity lounges. Where The Heart Is exemplifies love, family, friends and a sense of pride.

  • Peace of Mind

I would tell others that the community has been a good experience, and would recommend the community to others. Some of the activities that are available are painting, arts and crafts, exercise, happy hours, and more for the residents to choose from. The food is good most of time for my loved one.

  • Content with my choice

We chose Where the Heart is because they had availability, I had gotten good reviews from other people, and when I was working with the woman she was helpful and really listened to my mother's story and helped to get mother the best care she could get. They do accept Medicaid as well. For being there as a single person, I think her room size is fine. They do offer shared rooms here as well, which is something we will have to do in the future. I do like that they provide transportation to doctors appointments. It is very helpful. I would recommend to others looking.

  • Things are looking up and Getting Better. Bottom line, mom is quite happy.

I would recommend it, but make sure you focus on a clear line of communciation with the managment. and staff. At times they seem understaffed, and this could be based on teh Covid issue. I feel like my rating would change if not for Covid. It was good when we moved in, and then took a bit of a nosedive when Covid hit. There was a little breakdown in communication, but it's coming back. But my loved one is very happy oveall. She has commented that the food could be better. They do somnething a little different there, with teh main meal at lunch and lighter meal for dinner. That's taken her some getting used to. She feels it more like a heavy snack than a meal at dinner. As things are opening up, my confidence is being re-established, and that's been good to see.
