Benton House of Sugar Hill

The staff members seem nice, friendly and they recognize us every time we come to visit. However we are not to impressed with how they secure the residents keys, when they leave the keys are put into a basket by the front door and anybody could grab them. We aren't sure if they have lost some kitchen staff but the meals take awhile to be delivered and the quality has declined. Our loved one is not to impressed with that or the evening activities, we do wish they offered more of a variety.

My mom lived there twice, as we were hopeful she could live in an asst living home. Both times she was hospitalized. During the hospitalization we were told her level of care was too much for them and she could not return. We found another home. However, both times they billed us for periods of time after she left. Even though the contract states otherwise. We were even referred to a collection agency for the amount that was owed after she moved out. Was a stressful time to begin with. Felt preyed upon.

We have been nothing but happy with Benton House. We chose this facility at the time because we were in a time crunch and they had availability when we needed it. Also, from meeting with the director she was very understanding with the tough circumstances and very friendly. They have been great with communication and keeping us up to date with what is going on. It has been a great experience and I would highly recommend them.
