Our caregivers are specially trained to assist residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Understanding that memory loss impacts each resident differently, we make it a priority to get to know your loved one on a personal level. Iris Memory Care of Rowlett has two separate buildings that are built for a maximum of 24 residents each. Advanced research has shown that those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia thrive in a small, intimate environment. Therefore, our home-like model lends itself to maintaining each resident’s health, happiness, and freedom of movement.

Living Arrangements

Resident suites and community spaces at Iris Memory Care of Rowlett reflect an elegance that lends itself to both privacy and dignity. With three floor plans to choose from, you or your loved one have options when it comes to living. We offer both private and companion suites, each ready to call home with bathrooms, ample storage space, and large windows.

You’ll also notice unit details, like our hardwood-like no-slip floors that make you feel at home while providing durability and lowering fall risk as well as wall colors specially chosen for their calming qualities. We’ve designed spaces with your safety and vitality in mind.

Care Types Offered

Iris Memory Care of Rowlett is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:

Assisted Living Facility

A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:

Type A:

A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.

Type B:

A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.

Type C (Adult Foster Care):

Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
