  • Highly recommend Sage Oak Assisted Living

My brother was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. After hospital and rehab stays for several weeks, we admitted him to Sage Oak—Aberdeen. Prior to choosing Sage Oak, my husband and I visited four other assisted-living facilities/homes. Sage Oak was the last of those, and we were so pleased that we had persisted long enough to visit Sage Oak, which we believed would be the perfect fit for my brother. The staff at Sage Oak--Aberdeen were so kind, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced. They had such a great sense of humor and could relate and communicate well with my brother. Sage Oak has a director of nursing and a visiting doctor and nurse practitioner who see residents at least weekly. I felt my brother would have good medical care. My husband and I strongly recommend Sage Oak for its professional introduction to the homes, its beliefs about how to treat residents, its employment of competent staff, and its commitment to genuine care for its residents.

  • I wish I could of gotten our loved one there sooner

Due to the restrictions we were not really able to go inside the community that much, but when we were able to it was very clean. The staff members were extremely friendly and the management was so accommodating and attentive. Our loved one really enjoyed the meals, and they did have activities for the residents. We liked that on nice days they would take the residents outside. It was just such a nice communiyt, we loved it.

  • Care at Sage Oak

Making the decision to move mom out of her house was difficult. We knew she couldn't stay on her own but we couldn't afford 24 hr care at the house. Hospice recommended a group home living situation and gave us some names to begin our search. After visits to several homes, I happened to call Sage Oak and talked to [name removed], one of the residence managers. She was friendly, understanding, yet professional and to the point. We arranged a visit and that was when I experienced real hope. The home is in a great neighborhood. It was open, spacious with a well- tended outdoor area and clean. The individual rooms were ordered with individual touches, neat and clean. The residents were up and about and were obviously well cared for. [name removed] introduced me to the staff who were also personable, friendly, courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. They were able to talk to me and keep an eye on the patients while not appearing rushed. This was the place we had been looking for! Mom's experience was a good one and the care givers were were always kind and helpful to her and to us when we came to visit. It was ok for us to be there to visit at any time or to talk on the phone when we or mom wanted to chat. Thanks to everyone (you know who you are) for making mom's last days as good as they were. To anyone else reading this, mom passed away 3 weeks ago after a run of 101 full years. I know how difficult and stressful end-of-days elder care can be for the family. Sage Oak-Aberdeen gave us many reasons to feel good about the decisions we made.
