Sage Oak Services and Amenities

Although Sage Oak is smaller than many senior living communities, the care home offers many of the same services and amenities.

The brick home has two wings separated by an airy common area with ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings. An enclosed backyard with a porch invites residents to spend time outdoors. The spacious dining room serves three home-cooked meals a day. A comfy lounge area can host daily activities designed to keep your loved one engaged.

Health care services offered by Sage Oak include memory care for seniors with dementia, incontinence care, medication delivery and management, and appointment scheduling. Additionally, a nurse is on staff.

Sage Oak at Norway Place offers seven private bedrooms and a suite with varying architectural styles to match any taste.

State Classification

Sage Oak Assisted Living is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:

Assisted Living Facility

A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:

Type A:

A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.

Type B:

A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.

Type C (Adult Foster Care):

Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
